The School of Arts and Enterprise Dance Department is a comprehensive 6th to 12th grade educational dance program that encourages students to build their technical, performance and choreographic abilities through rigorous and career-focused curriculum.
The SAE Dance Department will establish a foundation for students that encourages lifelong learning and encourages progress in their technical, performance, and choreographic skill development. Students will receive experiences that will prepare them for dance study at the collegiate level or enter professional dance training programs. The Department focuses on commercial dance with a strong training emphasis in the contemporary, ballet, modern, hip-hop, ballet, and jazz genres. Students will be offered unique opportunities at world-class venues, training with renowned instructors, and a rigorous curriculum.
Dance Major Class Expectations & Reminders
Dance student artists receive daily participation points. When a dancer is absent or sits out of class they are expected to do an assignment to make up parcial points. When class is missed it is the student’s responsibility to get their missing work and to learn choreography that is missed.
Dancers must receive an 80% or higher in their dance class to perform in the dance concerts or upcoming performances. This semester the cut off date is Friday, December 3rd. After this deadline the teachers need time to make adjustments to the choreography and formations for any dancers not performing in the show.
Check the website for all FAA rehearsals.
